To help support us in covering the 2024 MADE Bike Show, wheel manufacturer We Are One sponsored a special gallery featuring some of the showcase’s builders who displayed the brand’s handmade carbon wheels. This includes some yet-to-be-released off-road touring/bikepacking-specific models. Read on for an in-depth look at bikes from Apogee, Chumba, Landyachtz, Moots, Pine, Sage, Significant Other, Six Mile, Sour, and Wolf Tooth/Otso!
We Are One’s wheels have gained quite the praise from wheelbuilders and riders worldwide. Their wheels are designed to take a beating on gravel, double-track, and singletrack while damping the trail, giving you a comfortable and confident ride. They stay true longer and require little to no maintenance, which is especially important when tackling long rides in remote areas. These show builds feature some of We Are One most popular rims for hardtails, full-suspension enduro bikes, gravel, and bikepacking rigs. In an effort to reach more riders with varying use cases, they’re developing new off-road gravel/touring/bikepacking wheels designed to withstand a fully-loaded bike ridden or raced in rugged terrain.
Wheel Teaser specs:
- Diameter: 29er
- Dimensions: 27mm Inner Rim Width / 21mm Rim Depth
- Hole Count: 32h
- ERD: 600MM / 2mm offset drilling
Here are a few select bikes that were rolling on these new We Are One Wheels at the MADE Bike Show…
Apogee One Full Suspension with Old Man Mountain Racks
When we first documented the Apogee One in the 2023 MADE Bike Show, we immediately noted its substantial framebag space. With the Free-Float module down low, it not only opens up the frame space for a substantial bag – as evident with the Rockgeist custom framebag here – but it keeps the mass low, offering a trail-oriented center of gravity that keeps the bike planted and secure.
Seeing the bike loaded with an Old Man Mountain rear rack and a front Axle Pack showcases one potential build kit for taking on the Colorado Trail Race or a tour around the Tahoe Rim Trail. Regardless of terrain choice, the Apogee One looks to be a bike with a lot of shred potential and versatility in mind.

Chumba Yaupon Drop-Bar Hardtail 29er with Custom Dispersed Bags
Austin, Texas-based Chumba Cycles displayed this stunning mustard yellow Yaupon, the brand’s flagship drop-bar 29er platform, complete with custom bags from Dispersed and a 120 mm travel fork. When it comes to races like the Tour Divide or tours that involve a mix of singletrack and doubletrack, having a dropper post for those rowdy sections and a suspension fork add not only comfort but traction during technical climbs and descents. And in those conditions, bikes like the Yaupon make a lot of sense.
Riding in the drops is more comfortable for a lot of people and the familiarity of drop bars versus flat bars definitely aligns with a core group of riders. That’s who Chumba had in mind for the Yaupon. To dress the bike in an appropriate kit for lightweight singletrack travel, the brand pinged Dispersed to kit it out. The blue X-Pac fabric was also used in Chumba’s pop-up tent for their tradeshows, also sewed by Dispersed.
Holler at the team at Chumba for a Yaupon of yer own!
Landyachtz 1146 Custom Titanium Gravel Bike
Vancouver-based Landyachtz began as a skateboarding company but over the years they’ve built up a substantial bicycle extension of the brand. A few years ago, it launched the 1146 Custom program, with titanium frames welded in-house at its East Vancouver workshop at 1146 Union Street. This particular bike is part of its rental fleet where people can take bikes out on day rides or multi-day bicycle camping trips.
So why is it in a We Are One mountain touring gallery? Well those might be prototype gravel wheels from We Are One! Speaking of prototypes, the beauty of building in-house is brands like Landyachtz can update their models on the fly when the industry implements new standards like UDH-compatible dropouts.

Moots Routt Esc with MRP Baxter Gravel Fork and Old Man Mountain Racks
Steamboat Springs is on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route and is the home of MOOTS, the Masters of Metal. The Routt Esc won over John’s heart when he reviewed it by offering a boost-spaced mountain bike chassis with a titanium fork and the riding position of a zippy drop-bar 29er.
Nate Bradley, the president of Moots, built up this dream machine with front and rear racks to go on a bike tour with his wife. Now he’s hooked. He mentioned wanting to further evolve the Routt ESC either into a full-blown rugged platform for the Tour Divide or bring it back to a more adventure gravel platform. The more time Nate spends on the bike, the more the wheels of creativity spin for him and we’re stoked to see where he takes this versatile bike platform!

Pine Cycles Country Rigid 29er
Introducing the Country. A modern progressive xc/trail hardtail designed for deep back County routes, all day Country missions, and ripping cross Country trails. Optimized for 110mm-130mm suspension forks and 50mm-60mm stems with 66/74 head and seat angles at 130mm (unsagged). It also features a completely new custom UDH Dropout co-designed and made by Ratking Frames in Seattle.
This is Kevin, the founder of Pine’s personal build that’s specced to tackle some upcoming bikepacking races and bicycle camping trips. The bike was on display at the Swift Industries booth, loaded with bags. The parts kit includes Tumbleweed 20º sweep Persuader Bars, Paul Boxcar Stem, a prototype all silver dropper post from PNW Components inspired by John’s stripped post, and a dependable mechanical drivetrain from TRP.
The beautiful pink champagne cerakote was done by Stuntdoubles Color. Country frames are designed, built and painted in Seattle. Available to order soon from Pine.
Sage Powerline Titanium Hardtail 29er
The Sage Powerline has undergone some updates since Josh reviewed it in 2021. Namely the geometry and UDH compatibility. It rolls on 29er wheels and features a fine-tuned, modern geometry with a 66º head angle, clearance for a 2.6″ tire, thanks to the 3D-printed chainstay yoke, and all-new UDH dropouts.
This titanium chassis was developed to take a 130 mm travel fork, ample frame bag space, and the riding comfort titanium is known for. It also provides sleek internal routing for shift cables or wires. Gone are the brake and shift cable guides on the top tube and seatstays. All control lines now run inside the frame through the downtube and chainstays, including rear derailleur shift cable or wire, rear brake hose, and dropper post remote cable.

Significant Other Titanium Hardtail 29er
Ashley King builds Significant Other frames in Colorado. After working for various brands over the years to develop her craft of framebuilding, she began Significant Other as a platform to create art. Last year at MADE, her artfullness was on full display with her titanium fixed gear, winning over our hearts, and this year, she brought this stunning hardtail.
Her materials of choice are steel and titanium and this titanium hardtail wowed us with its sleek detailing and mystical paint. Sporting a silver parts kit just put this dreamy and gleamy bike over the top. With clean lines, 3D printed titanium frame parts and a rowdy stance, this bike is begging for a fresh coat of Colorado dust!

Six Mile Fillet Brazed Steel Hardtail 29er
Six Mile is based out of Nelson, BC, a veritable playland for mountain bike riding. Particularly rowdy hardtail riding. The Svoboda is the brand’s fillet brazed steel hardtail with a slack head tube angle of 64.5º a steep seat tube angle of 75.5º and 435 mm chainstays. It features a one-off CNC machined headtube with a ZS44/56 Cane Creek headset.
Putting this stunning specimen over the top is a paint matched Fox 38 fork with 160 mm travel, Hope Tech4 E4 brakes, 203 Hope Floating front and rear rotors, We Are One 29″ Convergence wheels with Hydra Hubs wrapped and tan Specialized Butcher rubber. This bike was a collaboration with Jakob Salix, who will for sure be putting it through the wringer!
Build your dream BC hardtail with Six Mile.
Sour Bikes Crumble Hardtail 29er
Germany’s Sour Bicycles and Bend, Oregon-based Chariot Bike had quite the quiver on display at MADE, including this mint-green Crumble hardtail 29er. The Crumble is a tasty bit of trail bike, designed for XC riding, bike touring or camping, trail riding and full-on bikepacking races. Nestled comfortably into trail mountain bike territory, the Sour Crumble is designed for 120 through 140 mm of travel.
In 2022 Sour updated the geometry to “keep up” with modern trends and nudged the headtube to 66.5º and 425 mm chainstays pair with a 467mm reach in size large. See more at Sour and order a Sour in the USA through Chariot Bike!
Wolf Tooth Components-Decked Out Otso Hoot Hardtail 29er
US component manufacturer Wolf Tooth brought along one of its sibling company’s Otso Cycles Hoot Hardtail 29er, built up with a variety of blingy components. Stealing the show were the orange anodized Intend fork lowers, which match the Wolf Tooth orange components beautifully.
What a stunner! Josh wrote an in-depth review of this all-mountain bike earlier this summer. So if you missed that, check it out and see more US-manufacturer aluminum componentry at Wolf Tooth.
Well, that concludes our MADE Bike Show coverage for 2024! What’s your favorite bike from today’s gallery?
