Jordan Hufnagel’s Skewers Are Back

(Yes, We’re Excited About Skewers!) This is a deep cut. Dubplate. White label. Passed down cassette tape status. Throwback. Jordan Hufnagel used to build some damn fine bicycles, and in 2011, if you ordered one of those bikes, you could buy some of his custom in-house made skewers ($180) to go along with the bike. The limited number of skewers he made are long gone now but Jordan is making another run this year and just opened a pre-order. Read on to learn more…

We recently connected with him at the 2025 MADE Bike Show when he showed up to see what the framebuilding world was up to. While we were chatting, a few of us prodded him to make another run of his skewers and we’re now elated to say he went and did just that.

Jordan’s work was timeless and when he quit making bikes, he definitely left a void in the industry. His Porteur Project bikes are still to this day, some of the classiest bikes to ever grace this website.

While tracking down a Hufnagel Porteur would be difficult, you could buy a set of his beautiful skewers instead.

Notes:

  • The skewers are machined from stainless steel, and the washers are machined from brass.
  • You will need a 6mm Allen key to loosen/tighten them.
  • These will work for most traditional frames and forks. 100mm spacing up front and 130/135mm spacing in the back.
  • Depending on drop-out thickness and rear-end width, you may need to trim the skewer length.

Pre-order these now at Jordan Hufnagel’s website for a May 9th, 2025 delivery.

Thanks, Jordan!
