If you’re a gram-counting, wind tunnel report reading, silk sidewall casing conditioning, ultra-light gear cyclist, then you should really see what Silca just announced today. These new titanium printed cleats come with titanium hardware to cut the weight of your cleats in half while getting 4x the life expectancy. Say goodbye to brass cleats, that wear out fast, and say hello to the 21st century! Available in ATAC, SPD, and Crank Brothers, these ti cleat kits are $85 and would make a fun(ny?) holiday gift for the cyclist in your life. Head to Silca for more!
If you’re a contestant in the popular #ToolBoxWars or follow @ToolBoxWars and love 3D printed tools, then look no further than Silca’s new line of 3D-printed titanium tools including chain whips, hammers, and lock ring tools. They’re not cheap but hey, they’re titanium. See the full line and details at Silca.
We’ve been talking a lot about titanium as of late it seems but we couldn’t help ourselves to post up these limited edition, titanium straw and bottle cage pairings from Silca. Bourbon (left) and Aqua (right) would be the icing on any build kit but this little bit of bling will cost ya $185 for each pairing (2 cages + 2 straws). Catch more of this balleur upgrade at Silca.
3D printed titanium parts have ushered in a new wave of bicycle design and fabrication. From the UK’s Sturdy Cycles to Australia’s Prova Cycles and the US’ Firefly, each of these brands uses 3D printing technologies to make their bikes stronger, lighter weight, and more modern. Silca recently launched their Mensola Computer Mount, which retails at $175, and bolts directly to your stem’s faceplate.
Due to the 3D modeling and fabrication technologies, they could produce a number of designs by simply 3D modeling and printing them. This is the future of componentry design and yeah, it’s expensive, but it’s mostly just cool that it exists.

Hot off the press, fresh out of the kitchen, or brand spanking new. However you want to put it, today’s new build is one mightily impressive gravel bike! Built for Girona-based creative director, Nik Howe, this Legor Cicli LWTUA is inspired by the very place Nik will be riding it in – and specced according to match. But don’t take our word for it; read on what Nik has to say below and check out more photos of this dream bike.
Speedvagen is still full-speed ahead with its 2020 Guidebook, offering up a distraction from the current pandemic, with a selection of mouth-watering paint schemes and builds. The biggest news for 2020 is they have brought back the Ichico paint scheme and their titanium bikes are finally fully up to speed and leaving the shop on a regular basis.
Speedvagen are doing free upgrades to Horizon paint on the first 11 deposits on the public release and they’re offering a free Silca upgrade as well. That means you get a painted to match frame pump, 2 Silca Ti Bottle Cages, and a Silca Tourqe.
The Ichico paint scheme is -hands down- my favorite paint job Speedvagen has ever developed. Originally released as the 2015 Surprise Me scheme for one year only, Ichico was then put in the vault and now its back and available as an upgrade for all custom Speedvagens.
Check out the Guidebook at Speedvagen.
Silca’s new Super Secret Chain Lube has got to be good. Everything they make it exceptional, so why would this be any different? The secret is NanoPlatelet WS2, a material that has less than 1/3 the dynamic coefficient of friction of PTFE and 1/4 that of Molybdenum Disulfide. In laymen’s terms, it uses super lube wax. Enough about the lube though, look at that Merckx!
Silca jumps on the bourbon anodizing wagon – or off the wagon? – with Chris King and announced today a limited edition bourbon pack which includes two Sicuro bottle cages, with matching hardware and two titanium straws. The catch is this pack will cost you about the same as a bottle of Van Winkle, $175 USD. See more at Silca.

Silca doesn’t think it makes sense to have multiple Y Wrenches kicking around your workbench. They believe you should be able to customize your wrench for whatever task at hand. You know what? I agree. If you do too, check out the new Ypsilon wrench at Silca.
The thing I use the most in my toolkit is my Silca HX-One home wrench set, yet I never bring it on the road with me because I’m afraid of losing some of the tiny bits in the black hole that is my truck. After the success of the HX-One home kit, Silca announced their HX-Two travel kit. These are not your standard hex wrenches. Not at all. This is Silca after all.
These wrenches are heat treated with a 9 step process, with a high grip polymer coating over high-engagement satin chrome. After over two years of heavy use, my HX-One wrenches still look brand new. The hex keys in the set, which include 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.5, 2, and 1.5mm, and Torx® keys include T30, T27, T25, T20, T15, T10, T9, T8, and T7. See more at Silca.
Silca has two new bag offerings, both of which are made from recycled inner tubes, here in the USA by Colorado-based EcoLogic Designs. The Borsa Americano is a small, riding wallet based on the dimensions of the iPhone 7+, offering tons of extra space for your riding essentials. The Brooklyn backpack is a 972 cubic inch commuter bag, which will fit your laptop and other office goods. Both are in stock now at Silca.
“Dario Pegoretti is an Italian bicycle framebuilder who is widely considered to be one of the greatest steel framebuilders in the world today. An apprentice under master builder Luigino Milani, he has also often credited with pioneering lugless and TIG welded frames.
Aside from his mastery of framebuilding, Dario is a remarkable artist and often hand paints his frames using custom designs that he creates himself. He’s built and painted bikes for some of the sport’s greatest athletes and his frames and anything he paints are sought after by collectors around the world.”
Not that Dario needs an introduction. Check out more on these beautiful 5 SuperPista Ultimate pumps at Silca.
Silca rolled out their most innovative product yet today, the Tattico Bluetooth Mini-Pump. The pump relies on a bluetooth app called iGauge to read your bike’s air pressure. This allows the Tattico to be a true mini-pump and offers accurate air pressure readings. It’s a very innovative product and one that I’d like to see in person for sure. Check out more at Silca.
To commemorate their 100th anniversary, Silca has brought back their most notable classic, the Pista Pump. Complete with or without the lux carrying case, this pump is meant to bring you the precision that gave it notoriety at velodromes around the world, at a pricepoint of $125 for the pump or with the Travel Bag for $199.
