The new SRAM S-1000 Transmission groupset is cheap-er, but let’s be real: there probably will never be a “cheap” electronic drivetrain. The best we can hope for is that brands will close the price gap between electronic and mechanical groupsets. It’s usually slow. Shimano took two years to bring Di2 shifting from Dura-Ace to Ultegra, and then another eleven years to bring it down to the 105 level. But SRAM seems to want to close that gap much quicker, given their rapid expansion of the Transmission group.

Ratio Announces SRAM Transmission Replacement Derailleur Cage
Ratio, the makers who hacked 11 to 12-speed SRAM road to MTB with its conversion kit, just announced a SRAM Transmission replacement cage. The SR52T cage is a replacement for your SRAM Transmission cage–the cross-braced structure is designed for stiffness, the form and chamfering help it deflect away from any obstacles, and at 90g for the cage, it will reduce the weight of your SRAM GX* Transmission derailleur to less than all but the SRAM XXSL* model.
Available with or without pulley wheels at Ratio.
